Food & Fitness Friday: Why I love Barre
I’ve always enjoyed Barre workouts which are typically a blend of strength and flexibility training, incorporating isometric holds and high repetition of small range-of-motion movements. Typically free weights, resistance bands, and the ballet bar are used throughout class in an effort to work muscle groups to fatigue, followed by a series of stretches.
When I tell you that THE NEWEST addition to the schedule REFORM....is my all time favorite barre workout I’m not even close to kidding with you. I am smiling the entire class and leave soaked with sweat. I feel girlie and it’s such a good mixup to my current workout regimen. I take this class once a week and I can feel it almost until I take the next week!!!
Pure Barre Empower is shorter than the classic Pure Barre class. The class promises total-body strength-training through a more cardio-centric approach that sculpts the body via low-impact maneuvers while increasing the heart rate. With more dance-like movements, kicks, and squats (and fewer tucks and esoteric subtleties), the Empower class is a win win in my book!!!
I love this workout because it challenges muscles that I don’t normally work.
On this food and fitness Friday don’t forget how important it is to mixup your workouts and always do something that makes you smile!!!
